Objective 2: Student-Driven Sustainability Practices
2.1 Water Conservation / Pollution Prevention
Students participate each semester in Water Quality testing in their Environmental Science classes. This includes understanding what water quality indicators are, as well as using nutrient test kits and Vernier lab quest probes to take data accurately.
2.3 Solid Waste Reduction
Digital Harbor High School is committed in reducing our paper, metal and glass recyclables. We have an active recycling program, from students and teachers saving paper and cardboard, to students collecting bottles to recycle in the community.
2.4 Habitat Restoration
The garden serves students at the school by providing them with a space to use as a living outdoor classroom. Teachers at the school incorporate the garden space into STEM curriculum and students are able to directly use the science and math concepts they are learning in engaging hands on projects.
2.5 Structures for Environmental Learning
Our focus to take learning outside of the classroom, by being involved with Baltimore Inspiring Connections Outdoors (BICO) - the outdoor environmental club.
2.6 Responsible Transportation
Aiming for More Teachers and Students to Use Bicycles as Transportation
